About our Funeral Director

Michael D. Emery has been a licensed Funeral Director for over forty years. He acquired his Certificate of Qualification and Diploma from the Canadian School of Embalming, Banting Institute, University of Toronto. Michael began his career with M.J. Stoddart Ltd., Stoddart Funeral Homes and served at both the Lindsay and Woodville locations.

Michael left the funeral profession for a few years to attend the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, Ontario where he graduated with a Diploma in Law Enforcement. He was subsequently posted to the O.P.P. Detachment at Snelgrove, Ontario. Having successfully achieved his longtime dream he decided to return to his calling as a Funeral Director.

Michael returned to Lindsay and resumed employment with Stoddart Funeral Homes, managing the Lindsay location until the business was sold in 1993. At that time he took the opportunity to relocate his family to Lakefield where he complemented the staff of the Hendren Funeral Home until 2004.

In 2004 Michael accepted the position of President and Manager of Trent Cremation Services Inc.

Michael and his wife Cheryl are blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Cheryl is employed part-time with Jo Anne's Health & Beauty in Peterborough.

As an active member of the community, Michael has served with several community and youth organizations.

Michael enjoys golf, outdoor activities, carpentry and gardening.
